By Roger Kleckner, President, Ascent Sales Advisors

First, you need to make sure your sales plan is simple, concise and adaptable. Additionally, it must be clearly documented and adaptable for each customer situation. You also need to include your sales team’s input if any changes are going to be made. It is imperative your team is on-board with any changes and feel they take ownership and part of the solution.

Start with next year’s goals and determine realistic milestones that are actually achievable for both the organization and each individual rep. Also review sales processes to make sure training, competitive materials, and sales process and procedures are up to date giving the greatest chance for achieving your overall goals.

Equip your team with the right tactics, processes, training, and tools to help them achieve their strategic sales goals. This planning today will pay dividends in achieving your revenue goals for 2020.
